What does it take to make a difference in a person’s life? While giving monetary support can help people in the moment, lending an ear can make a difference to someone for a lifetime. Being a part of a support group can show children and young adults that there are other adults who are making a choice to be there for them. Many children have parental support, and some children have the benefit of having a teacher who cares for them, too. Children and young adults who have not had a positive school experience may benefit from having an additional adult or group of people that they can go to with frustrations, concerns, hopes and dreams.
